breakfast looks dam good!

Eating Vegan in New York - Part 4 April 28, 2009 by legallyvegan
First up, we have brunch at Sacred Chow. We had read a lot of good things about their brunch, so we were excited to try it out. Pete ordered the waffle, which I believe was made with whole grain spelt flour. It came with apples, bananas, and some sort of coconut cream on top, and blueberry compote on the side. It was good, but it was just a waffle.I chose a breakfast sandwich - tofu scramble and tempeh bacon on a biscuit with a side of greens. Of course, I had to take it apart to eat it because it was huge. The biscuit, bacon, and greens were good, but the scramble was just ok. I think there was miso in it, which normally would be great because I love miso. But there was a huge chunk that hadn’t gotten mixed in or dissolved or anything. Overall we thought Sacred Chow was ok, and with all the other amazing vegan options in NY, we probably wouldn’t go back.Comment 1, Anonymous said...
Haha, how funny that your first picture is of a waffle! You'd think it'd be last! You say: “It was good, but it was just a waffle.” WHAT!! HUH!!! Ever tried to make an Omega-rich wheatfree waffle with "some sort of" coconut cream on top and blueberry compote? I suspect not! I think your breakfast looks dam good!
